Caprice Itagaki

Hawaii

Caprice Itagaki is the founder and owner of Fertility Connections Hawaii and one of the few attorneys in Hawaii specializing in assisted reproductive technology (ART) and surrogacy law. Before founding her practice, Caprice spent years independently studying advances in reproductive medicine and the evolving legal frameworks governing surrogacy and parentage across jurisdictions, recognizing an increasing need for legal expertise in this growing field.

Her practice spans state and international borders, regularly representing intended parents and gestational carriers from Hawaii, the U.S. mainland, Australia, New Zealand, and Asia, with clients across Oahu, Maui, Kauai, and Hawaii Island. Caprice actively participates in ART-focused legal seminars and continuing legal education to remain current on legal developments in Hawaii and beyond. In addition to fertility law, she maintains a business and commercial law practice, providing general counsel and transactional services to Hawaii-based small businesses.

Caprice is a member of the American Society for Reproductive Medicine and its Legal Professionals Group, the American Bar Association’s Family Law Section (ART), and the Hawaii State Bar Association. She earned her B.A. from the University of Pennsylvania and her J.D. from The Ohio State University Moritz College of Law, and is licensed to practice in Hawaii and multiple federal courts, including the U.S. Supreme Court.
