Kathleen (“Casey”) Copps DiPaola, Esq. is a partner at Copps DiPaola Silverman, PLLC in Albany, New York, where she has practiced for over 15 years in the areas of adoption, assisted reproduction, surrogacy, and estate planning. She is a Fellow of the Academy of Adoption & Assisted Reproduction Attorneys (AAAA) and the Immediate Past President of New York Attorneys for Adoption & Family Formation (NYAAFF), where she served as President for six years.

Casey played a key role in drafting and advocating for New York’s Child Parent Security Act, which legalized compensated surrogacy in the state. She regularly lectures on adoption, surrogacy, ART law, and estate planning, educating attorneys, judges, students, and medical professionals.

She is also co-founder of the New York Surrogacy Center, a licensed surrogacy matching program. Casey is admitted to practice in New York, New Jersey, Vermont, and several federal courts, including the U.S. Supreme Court.

In addition to her legal work, Casey is deeply involved in her community, providing pro bono counsel to The Pride Center of the Capital Region. She lives in upstate New York with her husband and two children.
