James is the founder of The Surrogate’s Corner, PLLC, where he focuses on representing surrogates and donors in their family-building journeys. Originally from San Diego County, he holds a B.A. in Economics from USC, a dual B.S. in Political Science and Economics from the U.S. Naval Academy, and an MPhil in Chinese Studies and Economics from Cambridge University, where he also studied at Peking University and captained the boxing team.

A former U.S. Navy nuclear submarine officer, James served for eight years, including back-to-back deployments totaling 19 months underwater. After leaving active duty, he earned his J.D. from Stanford Law School (Class of 2018) and later completed his MBA at UC Berkeley’s Haas School of Business in 2021.

Licensed in multiple states, James brings a unique blend of military discipline, academic excellence, and legal insight to his practice. He is driven by a deep respect for those who help others build families, often saying there’s no greater reward than supporting surrogates and donors on their journey.
