Ellen Trachman is the founder of Trachman Law Center, LLC, where she provides dedicated and compassionate legal representation to individuals and families building through assisted reproductive technology, as well as the professionals who support them. Originally from northern New Mexico, Ellen earned her undergraduate degree from the University of California, Berkeley, and her J.D. from Emory University School of Law. She is licensed in Colorado, New Mexico, California, and Montana.

Ellen is a Fellow of the Academy of Adoption and Assisted Reproductive Technology Attorneys (AAAA) and an active member of the American Bar Association Assisted Reproductive Technology Committee, the Colorado Women’s Bar Association, the Colorado LGBT Bar Association, and the New Mexico LGBTQ Bar Association. In 2019, she co-founded Colorado Fertility Advocates, a nonprofit supporting fertility professionals and advocates.

She has received numerous honors, including 2020 Ally of the Year from the Colorado LGBT Bar Association, 2015 Entrepreneurial Woman of the Year from the Denver Gay and Lesbian Chamber of Commerce, 2017 Volunteer of the Year from the GLBT Community Center of Colorado, and a 2018 Denver Business Journal 40 Under 40 recognition. Ellen was a long-running columnist on ART legal issues for Above the Law and co-hosts the podcast I Want To Put A Baby In You. She lives in Denver with her spouse, four children, and their mini goldendoodle, Teddy.
